In addition to the public activities, the National Museum of Ethnology offers a range of possibilities for group visits.
Are you coming with a group of at least 10 people? Then the museum offers the possibility of creating your own programme by combining various components. The different possibllities that are offered are listed below. If you would like to make a reservation via an on-line reservation form, then fill out the reservation form.
Tours
Tours can focus on the various cultural areas or on a special theme
such as clothing, jewellery, Buddhism, rituals, or top items, or can be about a temporary exhibition.

You can combine a tour with a film or documentary from the museum's wide collection at no extra charge.
Demonstrations and performances
Duting the Japanese tea ceremony, you will see a small part of a
Japanese tea ceremony that can sometimes last hours.

Workshops
Music: Siku bamboo flute
The siku is a bamboo flute from the Andes mountains. Good co-operation is
required to play this instrument. With the assistance of an instructor, the participants learn in teams of two to play a melody on the siku. All pairs together form an orchestra of bamboo flutes.

Salsa dancing
In this workshop take instruction in the old salsa dances from Central and
South America.

Balinese gamelan
During the Balinese gamelan workshop by Henry Nagelberg a group will
learn to play a simple Balinese musical composition.

In Balinese dance, the dance figures and positions are used to tell a story.
During the workshop, the meanings of these figures are explained and a simple dance story is learned.

African djembé
During the workshop Djembé John May will teach the group the base
strokes and a rhythm which they will play together on these West African drums.
